Organised by the Association of Independent Music (www.musicindie.com/home), the AIM Independent Music Awards are the UK’s annual celebration of the independent music sector.
The AIM Independent Music Awards for 2016 will be held at The Brewery in Clerkenwell on September 6th, tickets are on sale from www.musicindie.com/awards
Now in their 6th year, the awards go from strength to strength, and AIM are excited to welcome BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s MistaJam to partner last year’s host John Kennedy of Radio X.
Last year’s winners included Wolf Alice, Young Fathers, Flying Lotus, Swans, FKA Twigs and Transgressive Records, who picked up the coveted Independent Label of The Year Award. Michael Eavis presented Enter Shikari with Independent Album of The Year for their fourth album ‘The Mindsweep‘ while Noel Gallagher took to the stage to hand Jungle the PPL Award for Most Played New Independent Act.
Freeman PR worked with winners and nominees on news announcements and ‘warm-up’ shows to build profile ahead of the event, and a media room onsite during the awards themselves. Coverage included BBC Breakfast News (TV), XFM, BBC 6Music, The Guardian, Independent, NME, The Quietus and many more.
